Bihu- The festival of love

The Festival of Assam....the heart throb
Bihu is the most important festival of Assam and is celebrated with great pomp and fervor. Songs and dances form a vital part of the Bihu celebrations. The festival revolves around agriculture and the change of seasons, and forms one of the significant cultural heritages of the Assamese people.

Bihu is celebrated 3 times in a year in different forms: the Bohag Bihu (Rongali Bihu), the Kati Bihu (Kangali Bihu), and the Magh Bihu (Bhogali Bihu). The Bohag/Rongali Bihu is the most important among the 3 Bihu festivals.
I have used water colour in this drawing.
This is a picture of a moment of BOHAG BIHU, where a BIHUA is carrying a BIHUWOTI in his bicycle.
Bohag Bihu is one of the most significant and important festivals in the Bihu calendar of Assam. It celebrates the commencement of harvesting season and is also regarded as the first day of the Assamese New Year. The significance of this festival is purely agricultural in nature. It is celebrated with great enthusiasm and joy throughout the state.
